Help us get the word out about our upcoming Voices from the Education Revolution Speakers Series event featuring Kevin Johnson!
Design the winning poster, and you’ll see your artwork hanging across Seattle and the web! And for sharing your creativity with us, you’ll have the chance to win a $100 check card and have your photo taken with KJ!
Okay, we’ll say it again. If we choose your poster submission, you’ll get:
- A $100 Visa or MasterCard or AmEx check card
- The chance to have your photo taken with Kevin at our Oct. 7th event
- The respect and adoration of your friends and family
Yeah, that’s pretty cool.
Details:
- All submissions must be submitted by Thursday, Sept. 16th at 5pm.
- Submit your poster by emailing info@educationvoters.org.
- Poster size is standard 11″x17″ but your artwork should only take up 11″x15″ – we need the bottom two inches to print some logistics that we don’t want to bother you with.
- Winning poster must contain required elements below. If you need clarification, just ask!
- And speaking of clarification….Questions? Comments? Shoot them to info@educationvoters.org.
- Washington state residents only (please let us know your city when you email us your submission)
- The winning poster will be selected by LEV staff
- Submission formats should be PDF or TIFF. If you want to submit a paper copy, just make sure that it’s delivered to us by Sept. 16th. (Our address is at the very bottom of the page on the right-hand side.)
- All ages are welcome to submit entries!
- You have to provide your own transportation to the Oct. 7th event in order to get your photo op with KJ. (Hey, we’re a nonprofit…)

As part of the League of Education Voters Voices from the Education Revolution Speakers Series, Sacramento Mayor and former NBA star Kevin Johnson is coming to Seattle on Thursday, October 7, at 7pm at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1634 19th Avenue, to talk about his life, education and how basketball has given him a platform to help change schools.
Whew…that’s a lot. Now it’s up to you to figure out how to best convey that in an 11″x15″ format. Design the poster that will make people stop and read at the light poles and store windows and bulletin boards.
