Contest: My Dream School

Are you a fan of our Dream Schools Winners?

Before we get into how we chose the winners, we would first like to say that reviewing these submissions was a lot of fun…and hard! They were all really good and displayed real imagination and thoughtfulness. Common themes included swimming pools, roller coasters, and five star lunch menus. There was also a lot of emphasis on improved technology in the classroom, more time for creativity, and friendship.

So, how did we choose the Grand Prize Winners? Well first we judged each submission using three categories: creativity, message, and following the rules (i.e positivity). We then divided them into groups: videos, power-points, and drawings/essays. Those entries that ranked the highest in their group were selected as our “My Dream School” Grand Prize Contest Winners. The winners scored Target gift cards! Let’s take a look at their submissions:

Grand Prize Winner: Video
Asha Reichenbach – Age 6 – Greenwood Elementary School

From fairy teachers to mouse that makes popcorn, we loved the creativity behind Asha’s video. We also loved that she wanted her school to make the world a better place.

Grand Prize Winner: Powerpoint
Frances Fleming – Grade 4 – Lowell Elementary

We thought that France’s entry message of enabling more enrichment classes and unity at school meetings was fantastic. We also wouldn’t mind taking a science course where we could create “mixtures that blow up.”

Grand Prize Winner: Drawing/Essay
Ashritha Aroun – Grade 4 – Bear Creek Elementary

We really liked that Ashritha put such an emphasis on children learning and student participation. Riding elephants to class sounds pretty cool too.

Like we said, we had the best time going through these submissions. In fact, we loved them so much, we couldn’t pick just three, so were opening it up for you to decide.

Look at the entries below and then vote for your favorite entry by 9pm on Monday, February 20th. Your choice just might be our People’s Choice Grand Prize Winner! And don’t forget to share our page with your friends!
