Change Our Schools.
The Future Is Now.

Main picture

You're working hard for your kids, your schools, and yourself.  Is your government?

There's lots of talk from our state representatives and lots of plans that are never realized. Yes, we've managed to take some small steps but it's just not good enough. The future for education is now.

The answers coming out of the Legislature this time can’t be "NO," "MAYBE," or "NEXT YEAR." Too much is at stake for the future of our schools this year. No excuses.

Enough is enough.

We want everyone to know how hard you are working. So let’s tell OUR stories to our lawmakers. We'll get a copy too, and we'll post some of them on this site. The more stories we collect, the more power we have to finally change things. Each week, we will release a new topic, and you'll get to weigh in.

Lawmakers are working on legislation to improve education. We have to tell them our stories so they stay focused getting the job done. They only have until March 11th. The clock is ticking.

You're working hard. Is your government?

This Week: Quality, Affordable Preschool: What are your experiences with your child's preschool or child care facility? Is it tough to locate a quality AND affordable program?
We want to hear about your experiences.
  • I'm a parent, and there's no way to tell what a quality preschool means. I guess I have to determine that by the price and length of the waiting list.
  • I'm a working mom, and I want to go back to work and my career, but preschool is going to cost me at least $2,000 a month. Is it worth it?
  • We'd love to have another child, but we just can't afford it. Childcare is just too expensive.
  • I run a preschool program, and the government funding comes and goes. When it goes, I see all of these children whose education is being disrupted.
Read the stories that other parents have already submitted... and then send in your own.

From Tacoma

"We now pay $1,000 per month for an infant and a school-ager. While this is significantly less than the previous location with a much higher quality, we will still be paying over $140,000 over the life of our children requiring day care."
