   The WASL tests are extremely expensive, both in materials and time. The delay of the WASL does not decrease accountability but does save money. Teachers will continue to teach to the essential learning targets. When money is cut it is important to keep it as far from students as possible. Providing money to maintain lower class sizes and provide quality inservice in math and science provides much more service to students than the WASL.
