National Board for Professional Teaching Standards released numbers for 2008:

-          919 teachers in Washington, rank 3rd
-          2,726 total National Board Certified teachers in Washington, rank 8th
-          5 percent of WA teachers are National Board Certified, rank 7th
-          191 districts (of 295) have at least one National Board Certified teacher

    Heather,

    What point are these impressive stats being used to make in terms of the TF recommendations? Are they reviewing the fiscal impact of their financing options given the number of teachers that are currently board certified?

    So far, the Task Force has voted to maintain bonuses for National Board Certified teachers. The fiscal impact may come up later today. I would bet it is more likely that the Legislature will look at those bonuses during session.
