Bipartisan group of state legislators releases school finance proposal

The League of Education Voters and the education community are eagerly anticipating the final recommendations of the Basic Education Finance Task Force due in December. The Task Force has been diligently speaking with school finance experts and stakeholders over the last year to develop a new basic education finance system to fully fund Washington’s public schools based on today’s expectations.
A bipartisan group of state legislators has released their proposal to the Task Force and posted it on a website for public comment. Visit http://whatittakesforkids.com/ to participate in the discussion and download the proposal by Rep. Ross Hunter, Rep. Glenn Anderson, Rep. Fred Jarrett, Rep. Pat Sullivan, Sen. Rodney Tom and Rep. Skip Priest.
